Lead Integration and Automation Engineer

As a Lead Integration & Automation Engineer, you will design the latest communication protocols and standards that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure around the world. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain advanced technical expertise in power system integration and automation to lead in the development and enhancement of SEL products. Lead in defining, developing, and analyzing product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes. Serve as the subject matter expert or technical lead for projects. Diagnose complex customer reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers. Lead in the development of technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements. Leads Engineers, Associate Engineers and Technicians. Model, teach and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation and World Class Manufacturing principles. Understand. Create. Simplify. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent Experience applying and troubleshooting serial, Ethernet, and multiple communication protocols and their application in an electrical power system environment Experience with the following protocols and services:
IEC 61850, IEC 60870-103, -101, -104, Modbus, DNP3, PRP, IEEE 1588 Sound knowledge on the IEC61850 Sampled values Ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications Typically 6
years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS practices Experience leading product development or project teams Typically 6
years of experience in setup and configuration with a broad range of network devices and interfaces Typically 6
years of experience in electric utility, industrial plant or engineering firm Involvement with industry technical committees or conferences Working knowledge of the following:
